Does it matter if i have a flight booking for Johnathon and the guys name is spelt Jonathon

 

Easyjet want £233 to change 2 names on a booking and not flying till the weekend it's a ****ing joke :rant:

i wouldnt bother, cant see the ticket monkeys picking up on it, and if they do blame it on them as their mistake.

The surnames on the ticket / passport have to be identical one letter wrong and your ticket it worthless.

 

The first names and are not so important, but if they want to cause problems they can.

in law its known as a minor amendment....happens a lot...first names, surnames the courts just make an amendment on the spot if someone turns up to a hearing saying im not jon i'm called john etc etc

How was the flight booked? And when was it booked??

 

I'm only asking as i work for Tui-uk and work a lot with T-fly......I know their T's and C's will no doubt be different, But when its within a 24hr period of the booking being made/amended then they will usually give a little good will gesture if you let them know as soon as you found out....

 

It's not classed as a name change, but amendment.....they are 2 different things...

 

A good tip i have picked up in the past is that you need to find out when the call centre is closing, and call right before closing time (giving a small allowence to go through the ques) and as long as your in before the lines close to accept new calls they have to answer the call......and thats when you refuse to pay the charge, and demand to speak to a supervisor...keep demanding to speak to one......and 9/10 times it will work and they will change it just to get rid of you....I'm also sure its a ticketless system, so that can not be used as an excuse......

 

With low budget airlines i know its more of a pain in the a$$ to get things sorted......

It may depend on where you are going. The US may be difficult about it, Spain etc most likely not.

I've worked at Birmingham airport in various capacities (incl. checkin staff) and so long as the surname on the ticket matches that on the passport photo page then it is at the discretion of the checkin staff (or supervisor) to allow travel. In your case it is just one letter difference. I've had a passenger trying to check in on a flight to Nairobi (via Amsterdam) with the name in the passport being William Smith and the name on the ticket being Gregory Smith. He claimed the booking was made in his brother's name but he was ill so this chap needed to fly. Unfortunately for him he did not travel that day ... :rolleyes:

 

AndyP is right - if you were travelling to the US you'd have a problem but seeing as your flying EasyJet you're going nowhere near there so should be fine.

You are fooked, prepare to get stopped at customs and strip searched! :rofl:
