anyone know if a 6 ton press is man enough to remove/fit suspension bushes or do I need to invest in something meatier ?

Featured Replies

id say 6 ton would be enough! I doubt there would ever be anything like 6 ton trying to pull the bush out on the car so youd have thoguht 6 ton would be more than enough to get said bushes into the hole.... Surely some lubricant and a vice shoudl do the trick in most cases hehe

I have a 10 tonne press... it does the job easily... i think 6 tonnes is probably okay.

The guy that tried to change my outer ball joint couldn't get one out with a 10 ton press so just be aware that it may not be enough for some jobs.

I made a puller tool for the rear hub bushes basically 2 machined cups bit like sockets one soild with a hole for a very strong bolt one with a big hole for the bush to pull into like a socket .This worked great you can do all the rear hub bushes rear upper arms and rear traction arms .If i can find it you can borrow it if you want.
