I know this subject has been discussed very very recently, however i would just like a straight forward answer if possible please :D

I've bought some Jaguar XJR Brembo calipers for my zed, however i have never ever looked into doing brakes before, so my question is - who do i ask to make me some brackets to fit the calipers to my zed?

Also is there anyone i can ask about getting correct discs? What sizes etc..... Where from?......

Any help will be very much appreciated :)

Cheers,

Isaac.

It is a custom job for an engineering shop!

Firstly thanks Mark.

Secondly may sound stupid but bare with me, LOL. I take it i need to find a company and take the car and calipers to them, then do i leave the car with them or can they just take measurements and make the brackets???

Cheers.

Right. I am not sure if this is going to be any help but!

Steve (Blackmagic) had some custom caliper brackets made by a friend of he's. They were pretty good and I think someone on the forum bought them after he broke the 300. I could contact him for you and ask if this problem can be sorted for you and if you PM me a number I will get him to ring you mate? like I said it might prove fruitless but maybe worth a try

I'm open to anything Vini :) I'll PM you my number now, but i won't have the calipers for a few days yet, so there is no hurry :)

Right onto the next thing, anybody got any idea what discs i'm gonna need? :)

What size discs diameter and thickness were the original calipers designed for?

I guess i'm gonna look into that now :wack:

Cheers :)

Best thing for you to do is go get a spare hub (so the engineering firm you find won't have to hang on to your zed), the correct disc you're going to use and give them to the engineering place along with a caliper.

Say to them "Make me two mounting brackets please, I have no money but will do sexual favours in lieu :p"

Disclamer: The last part is a joke...........But it may just work :D haha

Do you know an engineering firm run by women???

Seriously though, thanks for the sound advice bud :D

Get a long strip of cardboard.

Put it up against the back of your original caliper. Make two marks where the bolts go.

Then put the same strip up against the Jag caliper and make two marks on the same strip.

From that strip if you have done it acurately enough, you can see that you will need a bracket that can bolt to your original mount and have two additional holes for the new caliper bolts to bolt to.

Cheers Stu, i'll give it a go once i get the calipers :)

I know this might sound stupid but.............When you get the calipers they might go on without a bracket. Doubtfull but still possible?

We all have some kind of hope in our lives:D
