Are you certain the pump has failed and it's not an electrical problem ?

As far as I know UK and Jap ones are identical.

They seldom fail so a second hand one is a good risk and easy to fit.

almost certain its the pump, i had a leaking tank which i repaired, (i have a new tank now to be fitted) the problem is the car is trying to start turning over fine but its like its out of petrol, with a half tank full, its posssible the pump sucked up some rusty bits and that caused it to fail, before that the car was running fine

Does the pump still run ?

Is the fuel filter clean ?

Is the pressure regulator working ?

Get a new one if you intend to keep the car

I think they are around €300 new , bought a new one 3 years ago. You just get the pump and have to fit the bits around it (Suction hose etc). Easy job

Had a few second hand ones also but ended up changing them twice.

UK and JAP are the same. SWB and LWB have slightly different housing but the motor is identical and interchangeabe.

Trish, thinking of selling my SWB 94 TT slicktop with 70K. Do you know anyone looking for one. Would be looking for around €7700

Run a live feed to the pump and see if it wirrs. Also try cutting the earth wire and direct feeding it to a bit of metal in the boot.

good price roy for a 94, it might take a little while to sell, but there again a swb slick would be very rare over here, i have never seen one, and after ist july with the new vrt and tax bands i dont think too many people will be importing performance cars so cars already registered will sell better imho, i think your best bet is carzone, but be prepared for the time wasters (i know of this from chewie)

thanks all for the info i will check the things mentioned and will probably have to be a 2nd hand
