HELP:headvswal

has any one fitted one of these needle bearings?

ive tryed freezing the bearing for a few days then heating the crank but with no joy. i dont want to start hitting it with a soft malet for fear of damage to the crank or bearing itself.

the inner diameter is the correct size for the gear box spline shaft but, the outer diameter is far to large to fit into the crank.

are there two different sized bearings or is there a knack to it?

any advice will be most welcomed:duffer::duffer::duffer:

cheers

Mark

It would obviously be an interference fit, i.e., need pressing in, but just in case you have been given the wrong item, I would measure its diameter, and the hole diameter in the crankshaft with a vernier. The difference should be no greater o.1mm (0.0004" in old money)

blimey, im glad you put that right. it could have all ended in tears lol

the needle bearing is exactly the same diameter as the original bush that came out.

ive had a word with the machine shop thats boring the block and they are are happy to press it in for me.

lets all have a big cheer to nissan for making things so easy on the zed:x:

cheers for your info guys

How many engines do you have, your car seams to be constantly driving but always has the engine in the shop, lol

it just seemed to me that the bearing was too large, i stand corrected and hold my head in shame.

always best to have a second engine knocking about to tinker with:D
