One last try, been going through alot of problems with my car over the last few months and starting to lose it with it now.

 

recenltly had the following done.

 

New Cambelt

New Wiring loom

Injectors cleaned and two replaced

loads of gaskets and seals replaced including rear crank seal.

PCV Valves with new hoses.

Replaced Rad pipes

Fitted New Fuel line kit

New Radiator on its way as the old one is now losing water!

 

Once this was done I thought the car was riunning great. Took it for a blast to celebrate, obviously a wrong move as when I stopped for a break and re-started it, it started to make a fluttering noise from behind the plenum and now seems down on power. I've not really driven it since then as I am too afraid to cause any damage.

 

Does anyone have any idea what this could be or even better is there anyone in Calne, Wiltshire area that could possibly help me diagnose the problem as the MOT is due very soon!

 

Any help is greatfully received as I am now tempted to let it stand and get a cheap run about!

Is it misfiring or just sounding weird.? It sounds like an air leak / boost leak in my opinion. Could you carry out a boost leak test ? which would certainly highlight any problems there. I am of course assuming it's a twin turbo Z.

Take off your filter and MAF and bung up the hole with something that's round and 80mm and has a tube coming out of it! I had a little low pressure pump that I was going to use, but just ended up blowing into the tube in the end as my boost leak was so bad the pump couldn't shove enough air in!

 

For the bung, I looked everywhere for something decent and finally gave up and used a bit of kitchen cupboard sealed with wood glue :wack: Worked fine though and I am now leak free! Mine turned out to be on the passenger side return from the turbo towards the IC, where it changes from hard to flexi pipe.

You've probably blown off a loose hose somewhere or had a pin hole that has forced open under pressure.

 

As already mentioned boost leak test is probably your only option.
