RB engine to Z gearbox?

Hi, does the manual gearbox from a Z fit onto an RB25 engine? Is there any forums that deal wiith this conversion?

Thanks

The bellhousing wont bolt up to the RB25. They are the same transmission except for the bellhousing.

You could swap over the Bellhousing and input shaft (slighly longer) but may as well just use the skyline gearbox instead.

OK, thanks for that Legrath, so I assume the Skyline box will be the same as a Z box in the gearlever location, gearbox mount and prop departments?

I've just built a VG/RB hybrid gearbox for my project, only took about 45mins to strip the box & get the RB bell housing on.

As for the other things:-

The RB box is longer than the VG box so the gear lever will prob sit further back.

The mount on the VG box will prob be different to to the RB box, the mount on the VG box is the same as the mount on my spare S13 CA box. The crossmember will further back to.

I'm not sure on the prop side of things, I'm going to using a shortened one peice Z32 prop.

The other thing you have to do is mod the front plate in the gear box. The ball for the clutch release bearing arm needs moving, if you use the Z front plate, just drill & tap the hole other hole cast into the plate.

OK thanks. :-)

The conclusion to the RB/VG gearbox link is that you swap the RB bellhousing onto the Z box and cut 1/8 inch off the main input shaft while you are at it.

Makes it nice and simple.
