YER sorry mate ive tried that and like you say you get bombarded with info but i can go back through the links forever ,but i thought someone would have done this before. per-haps ill try a pole,on the lines of if you had to replace your tubs did you go stock or what did you buy and how much,

i think you would need to subscibe first to start a poll mate i dont think registered users have that facility

If you go any bigger than 500's or gt525's you will need change your down pipes, this wil probably mean you need your exhaust modified as well.

Bascially the stock, jwt 500 and gt525 have 4 studs to onnect to the down pipes, most bigger turbo's have 5 studs. There's your problem.

hi mate stand back and watch the can of worms slowly open :)

i went for PE 1420's with mike smith manifolds and downpipes

but really if your going bigger turbos you should be looking at incresing fuel

input as well so new injectors new ECU or chipped eprom ,

either way you will be looking at over 3 grand ....

Okay well hopefully this will decide for you once an for all.

2 things first, your end goal, do you want masses of power or just a nice quick Zed, if the 1st, then your gonna need far bigger turbo's and lots of other mods that costs big bucks, if the latter, then the GT525's you asked about are just the job! Next money, have you got loads, if not stick with the GT525's and be happy, if you have a bottomless pocket, go as big as you can fit cos you'll have the many other thousands to do the other work.

No one really fits stock turbos these days, there are far more modified zeds around than there are stock, so uprated turbo's will greatly benefit your potential to sell the zed in the future should you wish too, plus you can enjoy the added power whilst you have the car.

With the GT525 which is basically a hybrid T25, you can whip the engine out, replace with the hybrids and off you go, nowt else to do.

If fitting yourself you'll save a few bob, if going to a garage expect to pay around £700-£900 depending on any other little jobs are done.

You will benefit from a slight increase in power and acceleration as long as you keep the boost moderate to around 13psi.

With a decatt, boost controller, chip, new coolers, induction, the car will run smooth as silk and be bloody quick! You can at a later date fit slightly bigger injectors and gain a wee bit more power again, however for t25's, they will pretty much be okay providing they are in good order.

Should you decide on pretty much any of the bigger turbo's, you WILL need lots more ££££ not just for the turbo's but also the other mods required.

Hope this answers all you need to know, if not ask here rather than starting another thread.

i think the fist question is: do you have to change your turbos or are you asking as that was the first thing you thought of?

what mods do you have already?

THANKS SMITHY, you sound like you know, the best place to buy of the shelf would be ? Any idea. Thanks all for your help.CHEERS:bow:

Jaffa, in one of his other posts he mentions knackered seal on one tub and the usual basic mods.

As for where to buy them, personally i've always favoured Turbo dynamics, their prices are pretty much average, great customer care and the only supplier i know who automatically fits stagger gap rear seals on turbo's for Zeds.

There is of course Dany at DTA and you could also try a couple of Zed specialists for an "all in price" which would include turbo supply and fit, the benefit of this is they then tend to gaurantee the turbo's if they supply and fit, whereas if you supply the tubs, the garage will only gaurntee it's own work, obviously!

cheers
