a topic that hardly seems covered - i take it the under-bonnet insulation is there to help the engine warm up faster, but how many of you have decided to lose it to help reduce the average running temperature?

i thought it was to stop the bonnet paint from getting boogerd?

And sound deadening

It's got nothing to do with engine warming it's all about sound proofing.

I was told on here a while back that its just for sound proofing and doesn't affect the paint at all....have left mine in place so far though...

dont know who edited my poll to include the fifth option and although im sure some would find it amusing, it makes me look like a tw@ :slap: can a mod remove it please :nono:

Also if you get rid of the battery container tray which is insulated you risk cooking the battery with the heat from the turbo.

oooooppppsss

Iv'e had several turbo cars, all tuned, all with the "insulation" removed and NEVER a problem caused because of it. I'm sure it's there as sound deadening.
