Hi all

I have just boght a TT import and it has lap belts in the back. Is there a conversion to 3 point belts out there ?

The mounting positions are on the J Spec behind the trim where you would find them on a UK model. I think you have to drill the hole though.

Yep it's about 2 inches up from the gas strut on the rear panel but there's markings on the back of the panel to drill through. Everything else is there including the mounting bolt for the real behind the side trim to the side of the seat.

Thanks for this, very helpfull.

Make sure you buy both parts of the three point belts, don't just get the top part and keep the Jap buckle section that comes up through the seat. The UK one is different and, whilst they do fit, they don't lock properly and could come apart in an accident.

Not a hard job to do, awkward bit is disconnecting the gas struts, you'll either need help or, if not, make sure you support the tailgate before releasing it. Have fun,

Cheers,

Steve

I find a bit of 2 by 2 wedged under the boot lit usually helps along with only doing one side at a time :D

Yep, I used 3 x 2 .......... was safer than getting the Missus to support it:rofl:
