Driveshaft

Featured Replies

Yes, looks like it needs a new center bearing (available seperately from Nissan)

with all that loose sagging on the shaft i wouldnt be suprised if the uj's are worn if its been driven like that, a centre bearing will set you back 150 big ones, why not spend a little extra cash and buy a one piece prop just to be sure? I certainly would.

Cheers for advice. I have the bits already, so i will see how it goes. The drive shaft went straight away without warning and i havnt driven the car much while it was like this so hopefully they will be ok.

I have my old 2 piece prop available if you need it.

Postage and a donation to Z008 charity if you need it.

I'm not sure the centre bearing is that great but I only changed it beause I managed to get a 1 piece prop.

PM me if you need it.

Finally got it sorted.

It was the rubber around the bearing that had gone with the heat and age. Bearing itself was fine.

Not a proper job but as a temporary fix until my replacement centre bearing came I gently jacked up the prop in the middle and tucked thick rubber strips into the bellows rubber part of the under the support part to lift it up and give it some support. It worked fine and cured the vibes. Lasted a few weeks too before it worked the strips out of place.

Does that mean you don't want my prop any more?

Not a problem if you don't.
