Replacing Alternater pulley

I tried to replace my standard alternater pulley with a lightened one at the weekend and couldn't figure out how to stop it from spinning in order to undo the nut. Is there a trick I am missing here? oh just remembered I need to figure out how to undo the crank pulley on a auto too. Better do another post!!

got to be "shocked" with a impact gun or put it in a vice then put an old belt on it and twist a piece of wood in the belt thus holding the pulley while you snap down with a socket and long bar...hth:)

Same technique as I said in your bottom pulley thread lol

Yes! See my reply on your bottom pulley thread lol
