just got my car back from thor racing who fitted and mapped greddy emanage and prefec e01 boost con, heres the results:

all ive done so far is super drager exhaust, apexi intake, turbo xs dump valves, and now the emanage and profec e01, running as 17psi, althou i think il mainly run it at 14psi and ive used the overtake boost button to run at 17psi, which ive set to toggle rather than on a time limit!

just wondering how other ppls results compare with similar mods, i was quite impressed with the gains!

oh and both results are at the wheels, he just forgot to cross out 'fly' on the left graph!

the blue line is at 14psi, red is at 17 and yellow at standard 9

Cant see the graph??? oops i see it now :D What turbos and other mods are you running? 14psi is the most you should run on stock turbos and injectors 17psi is very high and the tubs wont be running efficiently and you wont be getting enough fuel too.

ok never, was trying to blank out plate but damn u ppl look quick lol

cheers zx girl

i thought 17 was bit high but its ran fine so far lol

but like i say i will run at 14 mostly

no other mods, turbos and everything else standard!!!

Plate sorted ;)

thanks again zx girl!

whats heat soak?

did u mean heat stroke lol

iff you have upper hard boost pipes then put your hand on them and you will find the answer:( compressed air has a negative trade off in the form of heat and heat in the induction area is not good for power hence monster intercoolers;)

I think 14-15 is the limit for the injectors or it is new engine time:cry:

and ive got some pistons you can see for proof :D

There are a few problems with the info you have given!

Turbos above a certain point instead of pumping air start to reach their limits and overheat the air, hot air expands and this means the oxygen in it is diluted drastically, this means the air going into the cylinder is too hot and can ignite incorrectly, leading to your engine blowing up. It is generally accepted on the zed that 14-15 psi is the limit on the zed.

With the injectors, it is generally accepted by injector manufacturers that injectors should run a 80% of their maximum to deliver an accurate and reliable dose of fuel. When run above that figure they can run incorrectly and fail to deliver enough fuel, leading to your engine blowing up, so really 14ish psi is the limit for your setup!

so what do u think i should get next to run 17psi safely?

intercoolers, turbos and injectors?

lol

if there was not enough fuel getting in would it not run rough or anything, would there be any signs of excess stress to engine or would it just blow?

i mean it floored it a fair few times and its felt fine, plus the power now peaks earlier and i have to change bout 6-6.5k before power drops

surely the less revs is putting less stress on engine?

cheers

There can be no obvious signs and it will just blow!

You would need bigger injectors turbos, chip, intercoolers etc!

Do yourself a favour and turn the boost down!

i have to agree with that topless, turn the boost down or you WILL be needing a rebuild of some description

but hay more reason for a performance rebuild bring it on woohooooo.... seriosuly if ya not prepared to fork out for a new engine then turn it down.... take it from loads of owners on here who have been in this situation. including me :D

lol ok il try to keep it at 14 psi lol

i noticed u put chip in the list of things to buy,, but i just got the emanage and profec e01 fitting so surely wouldnt need a chip :S

how long did ppls engine roughly last before they blew running high psi?

(a question to ppl that have blown there engines lol)

cant u get a sensor that tells u ur injector duty cycle?

my bro got one on his rx7 and im sure that runs at 90% max and was told it was perfectly safe by two companies!

cheers

the stock turbo's reach peak efficiency at about 16 psi, beyond that they are simply spinning free of moving air, think of it as spinning too fast for the pockets of air to escape the blades of the impeller, this is where various impeller designs come into play, these things spin well in excess of 100,000 rpm's at max efficiency

found this lol

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=248390&postid=2622306

think youl find they can spin up to 150000 haha,,, youl need a different chip/ecu to run bigger injectors. Its not the turbos you have to worry about its the very hot air they will be forcing into the cylinders increaseing chances of pre ignition. you can get away with 15psi tops with a good engine and a good flow of fuel through efficent working injectors but that doesnt account for hot summer days when the air is less dense.

you always say that but im running 21.9psi at the mo and soon to get more back. THIS IS ON STOCK TUBOS FACT!!!!!
