Anyone installed front harness type belts in a 2+2?

Hi, I would quite like to go to a racing harness type of belt setup in my 2+2 jap Zed! Has anyone done this, and if so how?

I still want the rear seats to be useable, so a bar across the rear struts kind of arrangement will not do!

Cheers in advance.

I'd be interested in this too as both of my front belts have gone slack/slow to rewind.

I have fitted harnesses to mine, a fixed 4 point on the drivers seat and a 3 point inertia reel harness (with clunk-click connector above the reel) to the passenger seat so that it can still be rolled forward for rear seat passengers (my kids). Here is how mine were done. And before anyone says "Oh, but you haven't got the rear straps at 45 degrees!" I know and I don't care!

There is a retained nut behind the carpet on the sill, so that takes care of one of the side strap points.

For the strap to be secured onto the transmission tunnel I had a plate with a nutwelded onto it secured under the car up inside the tunnel with a hole drilled through to it for the bolt.

For the passenger seat the inertia reel fits under the rear seat squab cushion on the carpetted panel again using a welded plate and nut to secure it (care with the welding as it is close to the fuel lines).

For the drivers seat I had two plates with welded on nuts welded onto the top of the panel under the front edge of the rear seat to which the straps are then bolted.

Originally I had a fixed 4 point harness on the passenger seat too but that made it impossible for anyone to get into the rear, hence the inertia reel solution.

The two harnesses were OMP supplied by Demon Tweeks.
