Are all VG30DETT engines the same from 1989-2000?

Also i assume that auto and manual engines are the same?

I think there was a change in the VG30DETT from 93-94 but what did they change?

I'm after a engine for a 1990 basically.

Thanks.

Think VVT was dropped when ECU's went 16bit...

I know there's a different loom for 93+, so possibly some other bits and pieces, unless the only difference is VVT connections?? Have you had a look at AndyP's site??

Mine has siezed top and bottom end due to lack of oil, looking like a mapping issue which makes sence as the turbos were very laggy when they whouldn't of been so bad.

I'm now having to purchase another engine and full set of uprated internals so i can rebuild that and do a straight swap. Only thing salvagable from my egine will be the titanium retainers and jwt springs, everything else i'm having to buy again. Maybe the rods may be re usable but i want to get my order on it's way and seeing as they are part of the package i'll order another set. It's been very stressful and very pissed as you could imagine.

I would really like to have the vvt so would a 93 engine have this? as i'm seeing different years either 93 or 94.

VVT didnt go till 1996, and the power loss is negligable. From late 1994 onwards, they came with 300 degree fuel rails and changed the injectors, so you now have more options for injector CC. AIV's were taken off aswell, and i think there was something else as well but i cant remember

Cool thanks,

So a 93 would be suitable.

Why on earth did they ditch the vvt ont the 1996 models.

IIRC the zed wasnt making much profit so they ditched it to save on costs.

TBH i would go for a late 94/95 engine out of a series 4, most faults were sorted and its much the aftermarket selection for injectors is similar to the zeds rivals.

Aiv's dissappeared in the series III cars, they weren't 300degree fuel rails, but different ones for the change in plenum and injectors.
