you could do a lot worse than let andyz have a look at it if i recall he lives in thetford cant find his number someone kind will post it up

these might be Andy's numbers 01953 498 443 or 07761 763474 not 100% sure but have a crack with them

Could be rear seal or oil dripping onto turbos.

Power steering hoses are a common failure it's probably the long one that runs to the rack needs replacing. Has a metal crimp on it half way up that leaks inside the sleave.

Sounds like you bought a bad one! :(

hi yeah what i can see the turbo is cleen and theres no smoke from them ,its coming from the back i cant see any driping or oil round the back but thats where the smoke is coming from, this is what you get for buying cheep, looks like i will have to pull the engine out not what i wanted to do

could be the rocker covers, not really a big job just time consuming

hey there

if the smoke is blue (burning oil) and it is coming from the back of the engine bay, next to the battery and next to the brake servo, then this is the rocker covers.

the do not have a gasket only a bead of sealent, and over time the rear lower corner fails and starts to leak oil and it drips onto the turbo thus producing the smoke.

no need to worry about it, mines been doing it for some time now, next time my engine is out i will fix it.

hope this helps

alan.

Dont panic, if theres smoke rising up and youve also got a power steering leak the two could be connected, ps fluid smokes like fook when it gets on something hot and its amazing how far it spreads when your driving, get someone to get it up on a ramp and trace the power steering leak cos ill bet its that ending up on the outside of the turbos or exhaust.

my rear main seal ws leaking onto the nearside turbo and smoking blue under the bonnet on the nearside smelt alot in the car too... does yours smell in the car? does it smell like engine oil or ps fluid? Take the battery out and have a look down side at the rocker cover see if its oily or leaking bad. also look down the other side too.
