Should i use a zinc primer then a heat resistant paint?

I bought some hammerite gloss black but its reacting to the metal, but seems to work when painted over the primer but im worried the primer will come off with heat? :(

stick them in a parafin bath to clean them. Hammerite high temp paint is pretty good, used them on my mates calipers, lots of very thin layers and came out glossy

What about that 'very high temperature paint' you get for exhausts?? Very thin but could build up the layers??

They don't get that hot.

Looks like they've been polished, I'd sandblast them if I were going to paint them, gives a nice key for the paint.

Andy so you recon il be ok with zinc primer and hammerite? You recon they dont get that hot then?

Well ive gone ahead and painted them, not so bad a job i think :D not too important as you dont see them much under the plenum and other pieces.

Ive primed the timing belt covers and they will be ready to paint 2mow.

I been spraying in the basement and i feel really light headed now espeically after riding my bicycle to the shop and back :S woooooooweeee

Mate....

Don't forget my Dad has a sand blasting company :D

ahhhh now u tell me :(

too late :(

You can use normal paint from halfrauds if you want, they don't get anywhere near hot enough to bubble, fade or matt the paint. Unless of course you have an engine fire in which case you may need a little more than high temp paint :).

Anyway they all look really good so thats the main thing, looks like you done a lot of prep work so they should stay looking good for longer.:duffer:

Is there a difference between manual and auto plenums?

No, although im not 100% sure........ why?

I think the only difference is in the balance bars.

Correct - NA are also the same, they just have a blanking plug on the passenger side where the TT feeds the P/S recirc....
