ive got a problem with my gearbox its as if it has shut down

the fault code is 54 which says short between gearbox and ecu any idears on where to start could this be something to do with the alarm/immobiliser

also no power light and as if its stuck in one gear and gear lever wont release when foot brake on

help if you can cheers

hmm, mine too threw up a code 54 but i have no symptoms??

 

If its a break between the gearbox and ecu i guess you'll need to check the harness / wiring. The harness comes into the engine bay up the back of the engine on the drivers side and there are plastic clips on the inside of the drivers side engine bay wing where they connect to everything else iirc

This is where we miss a forum garage, someone with longstanding experience of Zeds, not just engines but the whole vehicle, experienced gained from professional involvement over many years. As a club of many years standing, it seems strange that we no longer have that experience to hand. What has caused this decline in technical support in recent years ?
