whats better? grooved/drilled or non grooved/drilled?

Now i am no expert but,

My Z is no track car and dosnt get thrashed regularly, however, i do tend to have little outbursts in my car where i will drive it hard maybe for about 5 or 10 minutes at the most.

So my question is, (specific to the way i drive my car) drilled and grooved discs have a smaller surface area for the pad and so brakeing distances are increased (with cold discs)...?

Therefore, i would be better of with solid discs as they wont have time to get hot enough for me to need the benefits of drilled/grooved discs, correct?
