4 years ago, after doing alot of MX when i was younger, i started my road biking life, and my first road bike was a ducati 750 monster,

then after 2 years came my current FireBlade and i sold the monnie,

Ive now partially headed back to the italian darkside, i still have my blade, but i have now added this to the collection.

This my friends is a Ducati 998 Matrix Edition. One of ony 150 in the world, and as far as im aware only one of 5 in the country.

And its an absolute ****ing animal. I thought my old 750 monnie was torquey, this thing is insane!

Now all i gotta do is wait for some nicer weather again!

Enjoy............... i know i will :D

Cooooool! Do you take the blue pill or the red pill before riding it? LOL

Was only watching 5th gear the other day and they were doibg a report on the 999 which started off with the 998.

Supposed to be an awesome bike, but I too am like stella, know naff all about them other than the fact that when you fall off it hurts.

Very nice bike, they obviously pay you coppers too much.

Our neighbour's got the 996 - and that's a monster. It's got the loudest exhaust I've ever heard on a bike! You can *feel* the rumble in your chest when it's just idling outside. And we're inside the house with the double glazed windows closed!

This has still got to be one of the best bikes ive ever ridden, its effortless and raw at the same time.

It looks a bit dated now, but i love it to pieces

had the rrv 99 model before the rr2 that ive got now cant say anything bad about them!

already a member but havent been on the site for ages since it was revamped last time i went out was a london to brighton run i think a couple of years ago

I had a blade once. think it was a 2000-1 ish lovely bike but it had a few miles on it though.

mines just hit 40,000 and its only just run in :D, the duke has only just done 1400

mine had about 50000 and it was all rattley needed new cam chain i think. and second gear was a bit cruntchy.

mines i bit lower duke's done 5800 miles and blade comin up to 16000 due for the big service when i get chance

Expect a £500 quid bill if you go to a main dealer mate, mines well overdue it 36000 mile service, valve shims are getting a bit rattly and its down low end torque, so i think the carbs need re balancing, the joys of dyno jetting hey!

tell me i will probley do it my self a i used to be i bike mech in chichester but cant be arsed to do it at the mo with the 300 givin me jip

Lovely Ducati Nick! We need to get out for ride sometime or maybe a track day.

Deffo marco, im still a track day virgin on the bike, so i dont think ill be taking an ultra rare duke on one (and somehow i think its a touch loud for anywhere with noise limits :D) I ride round your way all the time down the a32,a272 and the West Meon Hut road.

Ditto, i hate doing valve shims, never mind trying to work on the duke, every single fricking nut bolt or screw needs a ducati special tool! I suppose its all apart of the "exclusivity"
