What to do with old tweed Z seats?

I have a couple of old series 1 Z seats that I don't have a use for. Anyone know the best way to get rid of them? I don't think the local refuse place take old car parts?

 

Is it a case of paying a car dismantlers money to take them off me?

    Slit all the material off with a stanley blade and put that in black bags. Your recycling place should accept that.;) the seat frames are metal. at £150/ tonne you should soon find someone to accept them for free;)

    Drivers' seat is ok, it's a little thread bare, but the bolster is still intact. I should have really sold my driver's seat as that was in pretty good shape. You might be better off taking a passenger seat apart and using the base/skin for the driver's side.

    would they be any use to anyone for a leather re-trim? could use your seats while they re-do theirs (so wouldnt need to take the car off the road)?

    People are shouting out for "sports car" seats .....they use them to make gaming seats for their Xbox , PS3 driving sim games .......adverstise them for free in a local paper "would make excellent gaming seats" they will fly out your door

    A mate of mine is well into his Beetle's and has had a pair of the tweed Z seats put into his blue bug. The seat height and everything is perfect.
