err maybe fairy liquid strips the wax off, but car shampoo is specifically formulated not to. You can't 'take off' polish anyway. Look up what polish does and what wax is for.

Yeah fairy liquid is a bitch but the autoglym car shampoo I use definately doesn't remove the wax, as the water still beads off the car after it is washed.

As Clarkey points out, polish is abrasive and used for removing scratches and holograms not for protecting your paint.

If you're new to all this polishyshineylovliness it's worth checking out the Meguiars clay bar kits too. Gets your paint as smooth as glass :D

.....................The trouble with shampoo is when you've polished it and then wash it again with car shampoo, it takes off the polish........

But what about the so-called "wash waxes" that top up the wax protection??

I have started using Turtle Wax Extreme Nanotech car wash. It's great on a black car as it leaves no annoying streaks. Then, when rinsed and leathered off, it enhances the wax previously applied; plus the rain water simply beads off and I don't have to wax the car as often.

Richard;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
