this is serious so trust me! iv got a 1991 jap spec and i have had afew upgrades, but nothing intearnal.iv got a blitz boost controller and a power meter id. my car was running around 30psi.yes i mean 30psi.it did this for about 1 week. then it lost power. i could only get 22psi at a push. now i can only get 21.9 at a push. i have had a boost pressure test done and nothing is leaking. the car runns fine ie, no smoke, no noises and not detting. the only other thing i noticed was that my car doesnt seem to purr when im crusing on the motorway anymore and it doesnt feel as responsive as it did. i know this boost is high but the car loves it. it baffles mechanics minds as how i can run so much boost on standard turbos and intearnals but i know that i have lost a lot ov power. WHAT COULD THIS BE? please help me...........

CoupleA few possibilities :

1. Your Injectors, turbos and intercoolers are not stock and have been upgraded before you purchased car.

2. Your boost controller/boost gauge is very faulty

3. This is a windup.

You maybe looking at the oil pressure gauge:rofl:

30 psi is two low.

Try 32 psi fronts 36 psi rears.

ha u think im joking well im not. i was told that i would get people who wouldnt believe me on here so if u know ZED WORLD then ask Jeff , he drove it and was amazed. he said any other zed would have blown up before the end of the road!! they cant help me anymore because it is a mystery how its still pushin 21.9psi but I KNOW it was doing a lot more. im not trying to be big headed about it iv just came here for advice on what it could be. i know that the person i brought it off had never done any mods to it and he had owned it for a year and he was the first owner in England. iv oowned it 5yrs and Zed World have done all the mods. i have never had any intearnals done. That sounds sick! SO CAN ANYONE HELP me find why iv lost power?

i had it out today and it hit 21.9psi flat out in forth, but i noticed that it was dropping down to about 19.7psi but i haddnt moved my foot off the floor. why is it not holding the crappy 21.9psi that it reaches. the reason i say crappy 21.9psi is cus i know i was doing a lot more and holding it a lot better. any ideas?

remove the boost controller, take car back to stock and se what she is putting out then. 21psi is going to get you a hefty engine rebuild if thats whats happening.

Did Jeff do a consult check on your car? If so did it give any info un uprated engine, i.e injector size and map settings?

check to the left and right side of the engine under the rocker covers there are two flux capacitors they are round shaped blue diamonds with loads of wires coming out of them with lots of numbers on them, they could be set to the wrong setting causing acute time rotation Making you think your going fast but really your only coasting and your engine is only running on 1/3 of a cyclinder coz all your rings are wrapped round the offside turbo shaft propellor creating unrealistic never neverland boost.

what a tool!!!

theres not many turbos which will make that amount of boost never mind OEM turbos which will only make 16/17 psi at THE MOST

although i'm not a big fan of zedworld i'm sure they would have spotted if it had a massive aftermarket turbo setup but by the sounds of it it hasnt!!

the stupid thing is mate if you are as stupid as we all think and your trying to run silly boost through your oem turbos then you will actually be making the car go slower by running more boost LOL once its out of its efficiency range you will just be creating hot air, in your case alot of hot air and you will make less power

me thinks you play grand turismo too much and got confused!!

Hi mainiac,

Although other may not believe you I do.

I think your problem may not be as serious as you think.

I think it all points to a cooling issue, over time the turbo's getting hot and cooling again may have caused a little stiffness in the compressor wheel.

What you need to do to loosen it up again is just oil the turbo.

Now you problem you have is that you can't easily get to the turbo's.

But that's ok, the turbo's are water cooled anyway which means that the water from your rad will pass through them.

In this case you can add a little oil to your radiator and it will lubricate them as it cools them.

We should have you backup to 40 psi in no time.

disclaimer: don't try this at home

some useful tips there stu...surprised you didnt suggest putting sugar in with the petrol to sweeten the gear changes ;)....btw nice to see your back and rolling

chris

maybe the turbos arent balanced properly. try taking the car out for a real blast, then park up with the engine running, get under the front of the car and try to put your hand on one of the turbos. if you can feel it vibrating slightly then you could have a flange problem.

disclaimer: don't try this at home either!

What a great thread.......

......and shame on you all for taking the piss out of the poor guy. He obviously has a genuine problem and he's come to us for help :slap:

Richard;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
