Once ive done a couple of short stop start journeys, the passenger side exhaust seems to smoke a little more than the other one, it's fine when cold, but when warm she tends to smoke, it diddnt smoke at all when I picked it up and that was a 350 mile trip. it's not blue smoke just seems a bit thicker than the other one, slight smell of oil too, am I just paranoid that something major is going to go wrong with it, if not, still got 3 months warranty with it.

Sounds like tubby seals to me, get it sorted mate if it's still got warranty

If it's white smoke that 'hangs around' it will be your rear turbo seals. A £5 part that needs the engine out to replace :p

Would it smoke whilst on the move as well as idling if the seals had gone? On hard acceleration there is no smoke and just cruising their is no smoke, now and again on idle I can notice a little smoke, would it have anything to do with putting normal unleaded in it with an octain booster additive?

Normal unleaded wont help a zed.

Doesnt sound like thats your problem though, if its only smoking on idle its very probably a turbo seal, but i wouldnt rule out pcvs either.

Been in touch with zedworld who done all the mods, they said that the previouse owner bought a secondhand nearside turbo, but he had sold it before they were to fit it, looks like it is the rear turbo seal after all, I will be in touch with the dealer (Ebony a Ivory)today to see if they will sort the problem under the warranty.

Youll probably fing that it is smoking when your moving its just that the turbulance from the car moving is dispersing the smoke before you can see it.

How much would it cost if the turbo seals where to be replaced by a garage?

A lot!

Maybe £600 to take the engine out plus sending the turbos off to be reconditioned (advisable if old) so £1000 to £1500 I'd say all in.
