Didn't we have a sticky somewhere with insurers and numbers etc ?

I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Done a search and found that carol nash and adrian flux along with sky seem to be the most popular.

Anyone got these numbers or any referances I can use ?.

dont suit all cases but if you're 2nd car classic policy over 30's garage n driveway its fine

Just insured mine with Lynbrook Insurance (recommended by Pete turb0z & a few others on here) - 0845 130 4662 Spoke to sarah very helpful and came back with cheapest quote of the 5 companies i tired.

On classic cover limited to 5K miles, fully comp, with roadside recovery & breakdown & loads of other policy bits & bobs...

£335 with Mods declared.:bow::D

:shock::shock: With a list like that you're not going to get anywhere near my quote Stu :x:

I'm with skyinsurance, they gave me a 20% discount for being a member of a club. I'm 23 with 4 years no claims, fully comp with all mods declared and i'm paying £600 a year, £60 a month. When I was 20, I had a uk tt, I had 1 years no claims and I was paying £756 a year third party fire and theft and that was with Hyperformance.

I couldn't even get a quote form your guys, the underwriter said sorry but we just can't insure you, purely because of the modifications.

All of a sudden Adrian Flux is starting to look like my only option for a grand a year. :(

Be a Guinea pig for us and try these guys :-

sorted best quote so far.

£821 for a like for like modification replacement.

Fuly comp

Also the juicy bit is, that they have agreed the valuation of £15k on the car.

Carlin don't do insurance but if they did ...

I think this is going to be the one I go with but will try a few more before agreeing.

I have to add, that these guys at Sky know what they are talking about.

Not only did they know what every single mod on my car was, they also understand what a car enthusiast is, rather than some of the companies I phoned who feel that they should tell me they have a smaller mortgage than what I have spent on my car.

I have to reccommend that if anyone is looking for insurance on thier heavily modded 300zx or any other car that has mods, try these guys first.

Thanks Andy for the tip ;)

...the question is....do they pay out if needs be ? A lot of insurers "talk the talk" but don't always come up trumps when you need them to.

A couple of days ago they enquired about forum advertising/affiliation etc. We are following up with them to see how it pans out.

Just re insured the Z again today, Carol Nash with declaired mods was going to be £300 but came down to £275 when I said I was a forum member.

thats on a classic policy with a 5000ml limit, and being an old git helps:D

i just moved from A-plan to Sky. A-plan were cracking, they saved me £700 on my previous premium, but ive added a second car and found that Sky could save me about £100 on the pair. agree with the comments above - the two guys at Sky i spoke to were deffo enthusiasts and knew their stuff.

why cant we have a simple list somewhere, so when it comes to renewal time, people can just work their way down the list in search of the best quote.

That was my point too, I'm sure we had one but it must have got unstickied.
