I'm thinking of selling the Zed to finance a new project car.

It's a 95 TT Auto - standard except for:

Apexi SS Exhause

Apexi Induction Kit

HKS Oil Cooler

Sparco Hose

Tien Super Street Suspension

Tien EDFC

Aftermarket Alloys - Granz Impul

and a full respray in a pearlesant two tone, blue/green flip colour.

The car has 88Km on the clock 3.5K of which is in miles...so aprox 56K miles in total.

From checking Auto Trader, Ebay, and Japanese importers I hae an idea what the standard car would be worth... I wouldn't be prepared to give it away and need enough to finance an RX-7 Twin Turbo...

Any ideas what I should advertise it at?

regards

Paul

Its difficult to value a zed as prices really are at an all time low :(, so you might find you'd be better keeping hold of it. However if i was gonna have a guess i would say advertise it at £3750 but expect to be knocked down my a few hundred. HTH :)

a 95 should go for more than that surely. I'm sure I can surely fit the word sure in this post a few more times, surely.

The biggest problem is that it is an auto. a lot fewer people want one.

I let my zed go for £4k a few weeks back. Could have probably got more if I had held out but who knows.

Prices are going through the floor and the potential impending recession does not help!

I'm sorry to put a downer on things but i firmly believe you would'nt get anywhere near £5k, if mgh297 had to let his beauty go for £4k that just shows what a zed is Really worth in todays market! I know i love my car and have spent quite a few grand so far, but i know it is only worth £3k tops, which sucks, but thats life! :(

Looks like I won't be selling then...3K my arse.... for an 89/90 plate or an NA yes, but this is a 95 plate TT, that has just had 5.5K spent on it and you guys say It's only worth 3K... :-))) Oh Deary deary me....

Thanks anyway guys. I'll advertise it for considerably more than 3K. As for it being an auto, i agree the manual is a better drive on a track...but I'd rather be in a auto when sitting in UK traffic jams...plus the 0-100 is quicker than a manual.... :-).

Stick her straight on Autotrader and Pistonheads, avoid ebay..etc. A series 1 UK TT Auto 2+2 only seem to be getting £2-£2.5k unfortunatly, but your 95 should fetch a decent premium to the right buyer.

I'd consider selling the Teins and EDFC seperatly though, you could probably get about £750 for them, depending on age/mileage, but there not going to add that much to the value of the car.

The teins and edfc are brand spanking new having only done about 100 miles since installation.... I wouldn't accept less than 9K for the car to be honest having jsut spend 5.5 K on her with mods that, lets face it 90% of people would want...

I'd still be loosing around 2-2.5K selling at this price so, still a bargain for someone.

oh well RX7 will have to wait until next bonus.

please don't take this the wrong way but you are crazy if you think someone will pay £9k for it!

Being a '95 car is a plus as most seem to be 90-91 models. Auto is a minus now - contrary to what price guides have suggested in the past.

Does it have leather or cloth; and is the interior showing signs of wear?

At the end of the day, if you hold out for the right buyer who wants a car of that spec, you my get closer to £5k. Want a quick sale and you will have to let it go for £3.5k.

Start the price at (say) £4795 and see what happens......

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

9k:shock: ive spunked about 11K into mine (doing most of the work myself), i put it up for a very reasonable £4750 OVNO and never got a nibble, i will be putting cilovers and a new 99spec bumper on it wich will mean spending about another £1500, then next year im going to prob avertise for around £5500, hoping to get 5k for it

think 9k is a little optimistic

you wont find many people that will pay more than 6-7k for any zed, wantever the spec, whatever has been put into it,and most will only pay around 3K, they just dont seem to be very desirable cars.

If you do a survey of owners or prospective owners on here I dont think you will find 90% of them want ...a) an auto

b) two tone custom flip paint or c) Tein coilover suspension.

Also... spending £5.5K on a car wont add that to the value of the car.

For example I bought my 1995 Version S manual NA for £2000. In the last 6 months I have fitted over £2500 of parts to it but it aint worth £4500 ;)

Does that mean if i give you £2k i can have it???! I'll be there tomorrow!

Just be patient:slap:

I probably will sell it on when I finally get that other slicktop shell built;)

A) I'm with you on that. I would have preferred a manual and was going to get it converted, but seemed more hassle than it was worth and to do properly, new wiring harnesses, clutch and umpteen other parts would have been required.

B) Who said it was custom paint...TVR Colour called Halcyon Altantis. Available from any good paint retailer.

C) There's no point having sheds loads of power, if the 13 year old suspension is shot. I've already done the ground work for someone else.

I never said that my car was worth the value of the car plus the parts, I'm loosing 2.5 K trying to sell at 9K.

I may be a little optimistic, but I'm from near the S.Wales valleys, and some local chav kid will probably be a little over enthusiastic about wanting a proper sports car (even if it is an auto), not a corsa with a load exhaust.

if you think yours is worth 9K, keep an eye on this and see how it goes

is yours as nice as this???? (never seen yours)

BTW, dont think this one is worth 9K either

The interior is still under development i.e. original trim, exterior is stock, but paint is shiney and new. Wheel immaculate. Wouldn't say that it was in show car condition...yet... but getting there.

As already said 9K!!! On those calculations mine is worth about 18K then
