What is the best system for performance? dual rear boxes or a single?

Escorty racing are now making a titanium system which is a dual exit.

I'm assuming being a dual it will sound totally different, flame and pop more. lighter epsecially being titanium.

Can it handle as much power? what would be best for performance? it has a 3" pipe from where it joins the two pipes into to the rear box. Will this be suitable for modded big hp 300's?? I'm after that something different which this could be.

Two big bore pipes has got to be better on a high power car than trying to get all that air out through one pipe.

Either way, a single pipe just looks like the other one fell off

Just doesn't look right IMO unless you are having the rear bumper modified to hide the fact.

With a turbo car i'm lead to believe you want as little backpressure as possible, unlike an NA. So no exhaust would be best...! I cannot see how a single exit can be better, your potential volume flow is far less through one than two, unless the one is significantly larger!

Twins IMHO. Looks far better. Fiestas come with single pipes.

Some Zs can wear them though with specially modified rear bumpers, but it still doesn't look as good as twins. Some people rave about the sound from a single can, but personally, I prefer the burble from 2 seperate cans. Sounds much nicer IMHO.

Always looks like something's fallen off.

3" single pipe is a bit on the small side for a single exit. Needs to be 4" to be the equivilant of a 2.5" dual system

regardless of wether you go for a single 3" or a twin 2.5" system, you make enough HP for it to matter anyway, as they will take more than what you are aiming for. i have a 5zigen single system which i had replaced with 2 single ones each side, as it was too loud for me.

I had a single exit system built from sections of Eminox truck exhausts and had a silencer custom made from a local guy who makes stainless systems. From the cats its 2 sections 3 inch bore into single 4 inch bore to the backbox which is 2.5 inches straight through.

System is loud but not like a corsa with a big bore thats slowing it down, for me its a deep throaty sound but sounds amazing when booted.

If u want some pics I have some somewhere, I know from my description it sounds like a pile o crap but my mate and I built and welded the system up taking 8 hours to fabricate and fit it.

Cheers John
