Got some rims which are being refurbished as we speak, should be back with me in about 10 days.

I'm going to shod them with 4 new treads but what sizes to go for?

Rims are all 17" - Fronts 8J and the Rears 9.5J

Currently the Rears have 255/40/17

Fronts have 235/45/17

However what's the ideal tyre size to go on them? I have standard Jspec rims at the moment with what I believe to be the correct tyre sizes 225/50/16). I am guessing that the speedo is calibrated to this so I should get as close a match as possible on a tyre calculator thing.

cheers

In terms of rolling radius you have the best match for 17" rims, to bring you closest to the original 16". And I would guess the widths are just about right too, although that can vary with tyre manufacturer/design.

I have those sizes on the same width rims.

looks and rides spot on IMO.

265x40 on a 9.5 will be fine if you want to go a bit bigger.;)
