I never got to the bottom of this years ago and now it's doing me head in, I have done a search and come up with these

All nuts/bolts and screws are tight yet I still get the rattle, has anyone cured this with it not being a loose nut or bolt ?

In the second thread, how do you "adjust the window guide-rail" ?

I've just been out and had another look at my drivers side window. The door card is off and I've found that there is a lot of up and down movement/play in the window when it's 1/2 way down and I can't work out why, and ideas ?

Are you sure the pin through the glass has not broken? It runs in a rail. Mine did and it was hard to find another one but not too difficult to fit once the whole door was stripped back

[i'm 99% sure this is right...]

On the outside of the window glass there's a small (20mm-ish) metal "cap" looking thing - which is actually the back of the slider pin which WillieO refers too.

On the inside of the door in the plastic upright, there's a small plastic cover about half way down, which can be popped off with a small screwdriver. This is how you get to the nut which tightens the top edge of the rail.

You'll need to remove the door card to get to the bottom nut for the slider rail

Hope this helps....

Si.

I'm with WillyO on this one, this is an oldie, Window rattle is the most common at hlaf way, the fin that sits the window into the door bar is usually worn or broken.

Had the same on mine back in '02 and checked everything without sucess, then it was suggested by an old timer "ah that's a simple one, it will be the windo pin that holds it in place to the door pillar".
