Next on my list after my engine will be a set of bigger disks but i dont think they will fit under my wheels as there is already a big spacer on the front and the calipers just skim the inside of the wheel spokes.

was wondering if there is anyone on here with the same design wheels who have bigger brakes or if there is anyway to calculate them fitting? is it just a matter of trial and error?

Thanks in advance.

Well Jimmy, I'm about to make/fit a 345mm brake kit for the black car.

I have 335mm wilwoods on the red car with LOADS of room on 17" rims, so i figured 345mm on the black car with 18" rims will be a doddle.

HTH mate ;)

The spoke design on my wheels make it very hard to tell if anything bigger will fit in there, the spokes on standard setup literally just skim the caliper but on the side nearest to centre of wheel so maybe just maybe there will be some extra room but how to be sure or messure?

you need to decide what brakes you want and then ask if any members close to you have thme and would let you try your wheels on and see if they fit, im sure paulg has the same wheels as yours and he has uprated his discs

yes that sounds like good advice i didnt think of that....

Looking for a slight bigger disk conversion with the bracket to fit the oem calipers back on. maybe the ones on smithys website. Then they will be ready for when i decide to get better calipers.

cheap lager, actually its stella but got it for free lol

Unless you got a really big offset on your wheels then spacers will be required, just how big and how safe is another matter. I have got 18 inch Advans and they fitted no trouble without spacers.

J1mmytt if you wait for me to sort out my set up i can try your wheels on mine. i'm going for 324mm discs

Thanks mayo ::D

by the way ive already got a chunky spacer on the fronts :(

oh , well the caliper shouldn't stick out anymore than the standard one, just a bigger dia

i know it shouldnt but the spoke design goes inwards when it meets the rim leaving less space the further away from the middle it goes.

You must have watched "The Worlds Fastest Indian"

I'm currently looking at buying 362mm DIA fronts AP racing

You need to decide on the manufacturer and size of brakes, they should then be able to give you the miniumum clearance template.

You then remove a wheel and place a cutout template in the wheel to se if it colides. If it does you will then have to space out.

so what do i do about caliper brackets? who sells these and are they expensive? I could do as krsmayo is doing, he just bought bigger discs from his local cars spares and uprated calipers.

So the easiest brake upgrade would be to buy some bigger discs and have the brackets made to fit the oem calipers? This would be easy no?

smithy does the brackets for standard calipers on a 324mm disk i think they are £80

I think Dan has these in stock and yes to work with 324mm Skyline GTR discs ONLY! The bracket is made to suit a particular offsett of disc, so you can't just use any old discs with any old bracket ;)

Right ok.

Ive seen your kit on the site.. whats the price for the front discs and brackets only?

Speak/PM danny mate and he'll sort yer out. The full kit price includes the front pads, so knock that price of the full kit price and hey presto a pretty close idea price for what you want. That is for using the DBA discs, you can of course use any brand and danny will quote accordingly ;)
