Hi again everyone,

Does anyone know what I can check to find out why my Zed is cutting out under acceleration? And by cutting out I mean it feels like I'm stamping on the brake...

I recently put a splash guard back in as I thought water was getting onto the MAF (a previous owner had removed it for some reason) and things have been considerably better. However, after leaving the car for a few days while I went away, it's playing up again today.

It's damp, but certainly not wet today, so I don't think it's water on the MAF. Can it be a damp/furry connector somewhere? If so, where should I be looking? Could it be a boost leak? If so, how the hell do I check?

As usual, any help would be very gratefully received!

*COUGH* OK - how about just a standard non-fancy-adjustable-Nismo-70-quid one?!

Thanks anyway J1mmytt but considering the other bits and bobs I want to do, another £70 just on a fuel pressure reg is a bit heavy for now!

I'll keep lookin!

Braided hose does not cure fuel problems, it is just engine bay bling! I think you need to do basic checks before you go buying parts randomly to cure this problem?

Hmm - fair enough TopLess, I just thought if I was getting fuel lines going a bit old and hard and starting to leak vapour, it would be worth putting some braided ones in? Or maybe just some decent standard ones?

In this case, what do you mean by standard checks?

Thanks TopLess!

Now... perhaps someone could give me a theory on why it was doing the same thing today (started at 4.5K, by the time I got to work it didn't happen until about 6K) considering it's dry, sunny and warm(ish)?

Do you think that it could be water/dampness getting in while it's standing? I didn't use the car yesterday as I had to go do the touristy thing in London with my Aussie wife and her mum, and it just sat there all day getting rained on...

Thought I remembered someone mentioning this - didn't realise it was you! I'll have a look into it - see if I can put some sort of guard under my center panel.

I'll get the bloody thing working properly one of these days so I can finally concentrate on IMPROVING it!

Thanks again to everyone who helped with this - tis muchly appreciated
