since i recently got my motor, it needed alot of work doing to it... jus got it sorted and 2day my first challenge! SUBARU.....

didnt stand a chance ( ok it wasnt that bad ) but surely my 300TT can do better, standard?!?!?!

at 60 mac? cos this guy, through my rear view mirror, looked as if he was gonna climb over my Z at 50ish... he had 2 brake heavily!!!

He is infront at about 70 floors it, his backend dips down and I tear past in seconds,and he gets smaller and smaller in my rear veiw mirror

 

 

There is NO SUBSTITUTE for 4X4 traction but the gearing on a Z will blitz a Scooby anyday.

Dont forget they are based on rally cars which have to accelerate as fast as posible because that is where the time is made on rallying. Even though the gearbox on the rally car will have very little in common with the standard road car, but Subaru will make the road car have a rally feel to it.

Which means 0-60 very fast and 60-100 not very well because the gears are not made for it. Rally cars dont go above over 100 that often so gears are made to get up to speed quickly.

 

Also dont forget that the Subaru may have been modified, you dont know what has been done to the car, I remember seeing a post on Scoobynet about some one being blitzed by a 300ZX, saying he didnt stand a chance.

jaz, I've got an import auto TT and raced one at the start of a DC earlier this year. He had me from the lights but once the zed was rolling and came into its power band I left the thing for dead. I only tried it in the name of science (!) and was completely suprised by the result.

 

Even if you 'chip' your zed, they will still take you from the lights (0-30, 0-40 etc), the only thing that will change will be when you come into your power band making the zed beat the scooby at a lower speed.

well i suppose thats a point guys, we prob hit 70mph max.... so didnt get a chance to put him 2 shame!!

My brother had a race a few days ago with a modded WRX. It wasnt from standing still. Rolling at about 10Km and then hit it.

At 400m he had him about 6 cars.

 

My borther drives a Stage II 300ZX TT Manual

No Boost upgrade.

 

 

 

If you have an Auto, did you switch the O/D OFF ?!

nelson. i did have o/d off.... but as a few people already know, ive had probs with my recond box. i really dont think the guys done a good job!! W******

hmmm, gotta say guys, iv driven my mates modded STi, & its damn quick, even up to 100 it still pulling hard. they are kin quick cars even in standard guise.

thats what i was thinking paul, even when we were around 70 this guy could have got away if it werent 4 traffic!!! i know i dont have any boost probs now.. most ( all ) my teethin probs are rectified.

I had a similar problem with an impreza RB5 when I was auto. I had a reconditioned (badly) box, and the impreza left me standing. After converting the car to manual, I met the same car (Aren't too many RB5s in this neck of the woods) and blew it off the road.

He pulled about a car length to 50, and after that the 300 sailed past him.

I reckon that Box could be drawing a lot of power from your engine.

But as we all know you can make any car fast. I have seen cossies do 0-60 in 4 seconds. I have seen minis fly past skylines like they are not there. (Sorry Glenn, but its true )

i had an import WRX (r'roaded @ 248bhp) which I sold last Feb. It was quick up until 70mph ish after which it...well...wasn't quick.

 

Never forget the way an Audi RS4 WASTED me after 60ish. OK i know they are very quick cars but before the Scoob i had a chipped sierra cosworth which would pull hard till 140mph ish. I hope my z will eventually do similar tricks.

A chipped RS4 would paste a chipped up zx into to weeds. And before any of you top speed kings try to make a rebuttle, itd waste you top end too. hehehe.
