I just cant believe how restrictive the poxy thing is? I have tried to open a picture in the same program that it was created in but this time within Vista and it wont allow it. "Wont allow it? Its my fookin computer" LOL Also tried to do a file conversion and it says Vista wont allow it????

So after paying £500 for a fookin new Lap Top I have to go back to my old Sony Vaio and give this Toshisba Equium to my wife. Shame really coz the computer is a nice item apart from the operating system.

"Stick it up your ar5e Mr Gates. It stinks":tongue::x:

I have Vista, and I agree, XP is better and more user friendly.

I'll stick with Mac OSX thank you very much lol I have vista home premium on my pc and it's shite, nothing works, it hangs all the time and it's bloody slow

it is difficult to get used to but bear with it, it is a very good OS and once you get the hand of it you will see that ;)

on my desk i have 3 machines 1 vista X64 ultimate, 1 Xp pro XP2 X64, and solaris. And to be fair i quite like vista, more than xp, but then again iv'e fiddled with everything on it

turn off the UAC, after that its a lot like XP

whats the UAC?? (and where do you turn it off??)

since vista has been updated i have found it good but i have my trusty mac for back up as i dont trust any windows

always fancied trying a mac but without having to fork out for one

Got an Alienware last august and was unable to play any decent games due to numerous problems running vista, however after sorting out my broadband and 64 updates later, all seems well.

Except wont entertain gears of war? A game designed for vista

Would advise that if you have it stick with it, it does get easier to live with and if you are using Xp wait till you have to change after the updates stop.

the are very good and i wouldn't do without one now, i have had no problems at all with mine well chuffed with it. The only thing i will say is apple dont want to give you anything for free there are things windows can do or download for free that apple wont think twice about charging you for.

My problems arent with the way it runs. @Infact i like some of the features. its very user friendly and pretty. its the "The Computer says no" that does my head in. :)

Going back to my VAIO will kill 2 birds in effect. My wife has the full set of Sims2 with all the add on's and the graphics keep fookin up on it. The TOSH has 256 mb of graphics 2 gig ram and dual core AMD Turion. So that should run well on this?

When I had windows 95 it was about 75meg.. I used to run my applications, save files, browse the web etc.

Now we have Vista several gig in size and what do you do with it..run applications, save files, browse the web etc.

What do I get for all that extra microsoft bloatware.....fook all LOL

disable UAC then if you don't like the computer says no effect, the UAC once disabled returns vista to an XP machine in terms of security, see my above link on disabling that

the UAC is designed to annoy users so software vendors start making secure applications that don't pop up alerts all the time,

We've bought about 6 macbooks for the office, including one pro, everyone has had a failure of some sort and the build quality isn't very good, all are cracked in the same place and all of them have a problem with clicking,

shame as its a good OS, the actual Mac towers are probably better as they don't get carried around as much

My favorite laptop in terms of build quality is defo a Vaio,

Thanks Mike. i will give it a try.

And so that when you unwittingly download a virus or spyware it has to ask you if you want to install it.

Very useful security feature but also very annoying.

I hate Vista and so do most businesses. There was nothing wrong with XP and there's hardly anything of benefit in Vista.

That's why Microsoft have had to start selling XP again after they stopped it last year.

The next version of Windows is due around 2010 which I think is when they have now said XP will end so basically Vista is dead already LOL

It's like when Windows ME came out and was so bad nobody used it and went straight to XP.

I was thinking of putting XP on my laptop to get rid of Vista but Ive been told I will have all sorts of problems with driver software, is this true??
