Lizard's feet tyres - new from Reptile House

Just made it up, but what a good idea ?

Remember that discovery about how lizards feet grip surfaces so well by 'fitting' to the molecular/microscopic shape of the surface.

WHY NOT USE THAT IN TYRES ?!!

cos lizards are a little easier on their microscopic feet molecules biggrin.gif that a 300bhp car would be. hehehe, theyd get ****ed in one outing, even taking it easy i would imagine itd be ****ed. And lets face it, tyre manufacturers wouldnt develop it cos it aint worth it. aside from many other problems with your suggestion

It was a joke, although maybe there is something in it which could be developed for tyres -but I'm sure others have thought of/are thinking of this.

The price of lizards would skyrocket !!

AY, I love your posts !

I have a question for you though.

I'm going to make some new wing mirrors out of the same material that bumble-bees' wings are made out of. This should make me fly and so tyre wear will cease to be an issue.

I appreciate that a Shogun is on the heavy side but that it why I chose a bumble-bee - it is the bloatiest of the insects.

Can you think of any reason why this won't work ?

Cheers

Dave

Well it's obvious why they won't work - they'll be flapping to fast you won't be able to see anything behind you ! smile.gif

why not make bumpers out of the same plastic used for making Doll's heads?

A kiddies doll's head is always lying about in the wreckage of a plane crash and normally all you can find that's recognisable, it would make your car virtually indestructible!!!!

Who reckons I should buy a load of lizards and when they die, stick their little feet onto my tyres for ultra-grip ?!

I'm also looking into using a genuine whales- tail as a rear spoiler.

Flies eyes designs for headlights are looking promising, with retractable eyelids copied from an owl -

My car's gonna be a beast - literally !!

Are you gonna replace the cats?

How about fitting Gull Wing doors complete with feathers to reduce drag and help with high speed turns?

Cobra, or leopard seats?

Whenever you buy a 'high silica tyre' that is almost exactly what you are getting, silca in the compound produces a microsurface that resmbles that of the lizard feet, the structure is soft enough to deform and gain hold of the irregularities of the road, silica repels water, so as the silica tochs the surface it wil force its way past the fluid and onto the surface.
