Hi All,

Does anyone know if i would have to take the powder coating off my calipers to powder coat them again a different colour

Plus has anyone got a rough idea how much it would cost?

Thanx

Hmm, not sure if it would have to be taken off or shot blasted. But blasting and powder coating a caliper would involve blocking ALL orifices.

Probably easier and cheaper to clean them up and mask all non requires surfaces and spraying them

if they are stripped down, send them to a furniture strippers or just block up all the holes, it will take them back to the metal, i got a set of alloys done for cadpaul (stipped, then powder coated) they came up perfect

shot blasting them will be a pain in the arse as powder coating is a nightmare to remove with a blaster

Not really a good idea as it would destroy all the seals unless you completely dismantle them.

Why not just get a caliper paint kit from Demon Tweeks?

Job done in an hour and it's enamel so looks OEM and lasts forever!

Hammerite spray is very good. Heat resistant and give a good finish. Used the black on my mate Legacy turbo, and they came out really nice. 2 years on and not a sign of flaking.

Yea i did think of that but i didnt want to see brush marks etc when you look closer :(

You don't get any brush marks it's really thick enamel that kind of levels itself out to a rock hard glossy finish.

I've done mine and you wouldn't know they weren't a factory fit item.

Well worth the money and certainly nothing like just painting them which would look crap!

hence why i ssaid "if they were stripped down"

Oh yeah! Derrr! :o LOL
