worked well with NE and Yorks, introducing S & W Yorks.

It meant those members that could not get further a field, still benefited from localised meets.

We are also seeing now that people are attending meets in other regions (Tan Hill for example)

By creating new smaller regions, it would maximise the amount of meets, I really can not think of anything negative about it tbh.

I voted not bothered as the region I am in has been split successfully already

Good idea - I'll be in East Anglia soon............................:D

Is it possible to put up a map showing the proposed changes?

This is a Rough Map....

i think its probably a good idea in the way that there's be more "local meets" instead of having to drive for hours to get to them!

It is a great idea.

I am not sure it will encourage people to travel still though.

Typically I seem to be around the corner where 4 large groups meet.

Personally i dont see the need.

If people want more meets local to them, why dont they just organise one themselves instead of waiting for there REO to do it for them. Not a pop at anyone person or group, but its just what ive always thought.

Nick

i think its fine as it is.

i voted no, more to do with our region over here, atm although we are covering a whole country we are very much in the early stages as a region with very small numbers, we may have to review this at some stage in the future if numbers increase dramatically

But Bigkim is saying that Ireland remains as one region, why would you vote 'no' for the rest of us having smaller regions?

she voted no, as Ireland is in the list and Tulip does not want it changing I should imagine??!!

But Bigkim is NOT proposing any change to Irelend!

In the map showing the 'new' proposed regions is SC the same as it is now?

Although the map is a good indication, is it possible to show a map similar to the one provided with the new members pack? This shows the county boundaries and is much more precise about where the existing boundaries are.

By the way, I think the proposal to increase the number of regions is a very good one. It will result in more local meets and less mileage (cost!) to attend them. I think the point should be made that no-one is restricted to attending ONLY their local meets but are encouraged to attend any 'local' meets that they want to, however far away they are. I get the feeling that some members think that they wont be welcome to attend other region's meets if their region is divided (SW is an example of this). Nothing is further from the truth.

17 Votes and almost 4,000 members, its obviously not as big a problem as I thought. :headvswal

I know, i mean God forbid we should have to DRIVE our cars anywhere:confused:

Ill be honest, I can not afford to drive my car anywhere!!

When the old Yorkshire area contained the North East, the majority of meets were in the North East/ North Yorkshire (understandably as thats were the majority of the members were). We are not all loaded some of us struggle to live and run the car (ill openly admit, I do) and to have to travel 90+ miles to attend a meet is just completely not faesible.

We all like to drive our cars and Im sure many more would attend meets, if they were more central to where they live and costs were kept down!

But Bigkim is saying that Ireland remains as one region, why would you vote 'no' for the rest of us having smaller regions?

the question in the poll is (as i understood it) did we want the regions listed broken down further, i voted no purely in regard to the region i represent, on the grounds i thought i had made clear in my post, the poll gives me no other option.

as regards the uk regions i dont think i can make any comment on what members want as i dont know the geography and distances involved, does it make sense to you now dave?:D

If you read post#1 again you will see that the list Bigkim has posted there is for the NEW PROPOSED regions. This shows that Ireland will remain as ONE region. There is no suggestion that Ireland should be split into more than one region, NOR that any of the UK regions be broken down any further than the list shown.

I agree, but have voted to split cos it is always going to be a problem keeping everyone happy, I personally will attend as many meets as I can in the SW whether its split or not:tongue:
