Tried to find this answer by searching but got nowhere. Does anyone know what level safety boost is?

 

I'm running .05bar at the moment and am not sure if this is safety boost.

 

Can anyone help?

Had it on Surrey Rolling Road at the weekend and I am putting out 238 rwhp and 314fwhp on safety boost!! Iam quite optimistic about when I get it off safety boost then!

 

Any ideas what could be causing it to go into safety?

Do an ECU test - http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html to see if you have any error codes.

safety boost dont get me started with saftey boost grrrrrr.

 

 

theres a number or reasons why the ecu could put you in saftey.

detonation.

knock sensor fault/wiring/connection.

 

and a few more......

so what is stock boost then? i was getting between 0.5 and 0.6 bar

stock is 0.75 IIRC

Yes but on the dyno day the highest was 333fwhp i think from a z on 1 bar boost!!!

 

Other stock Z's with standard boost were doing in the region of 280fwhp ???

 

Sounds like one of our dyno's is out ??

I think most dynos are out, a fairly reliable one is Surrey rolling road, but a lot of them just give a big number to please the car owner!

hmmm, well the cars 100% healthy, minus the safety boost so will have to see once the EBC is in place.

it was surrey rolling road me and Andy and a load of others went to, i got 269fwhp at between 0.5 and 0.6 bar on a stock '91 tt (overfueling off the graph!)

which was about the hp i expected so maybe their boost measurement was off

Surrey are pretty good, unless they have changed hands, but to be truthful I seen a hell of lot more fanciful figures on here and we do not know all of Andy's mods?
