now ive got that out of the way, im after a bit of advice regarding slate roofs, we have just got a price from a roofer to supply and fit all the gear for a slate roof, he comes highly recomended and the price is great

now he has suggested we use a newish type of tile, it is a real slate but comes with pre driled holes

anyone had any experience with them, are they decent, we dont want those shitty plastc marley tiles

yeah i thought of that, actually i was suposed to put this in a opm to him

been a long hard week

ime here:tongue: ok...ask him 2 questions allan

1..are they chineese slate (dont laugh) because if they are you will be lucky to see 10 years out of em :nono:ile give you a example,a welsh slate new will cost you about £2-2.50 each, reclaimed welsh slate will cost about £1-£1.50 but you,ll be lucky to get a same batch so colour variation,a asian slate(chineese will cost you £0.95 so thats speaks for its self:wack. Now he could say its a spanish slate which arnt bad at all if you cant afford welsh but under no circumstances let him put a man made slate on your roof..its made by crushing slate to a powder and mixing it with resin to look like a natural product and aint worth a cats piss as after 3-5 years your roof will go a horrible grey colour so to sum it up ile put in order what i would have

1..new welsh

2..reclaimed welsh

3..spanish

4..man made

5..chineese hth;)
