Oil change

hey all im just about to do my 1st oil change any recommendatons plz and also can i use fully synthetic oil plz both answers would be nice thanks :)

    oh no not another oil question..

     

    You can use which ever you prefer, its personal preferance.

    Excellent - makes two of us doing an oil change today then. Bought oil ages ago and never got round to changing it. Is draining gearbox oil just as simple as engine oil?

    yeah but you need a pump to get the new oil in there its a sidewards filler.

    and you dont wanna get gearbox oil on the floor or on your clothes/overalls coz it will stinks for years.

    Any spares shop will have a filter, same one fits many many nissans, if you dont buy a nissan one ask if they can get you a ADL Blueprint one as they are about the best aftermarket one part no is ADN12103 or search for one on ebay;)

     

    As for oil i use fully synthetic 5w50, some use 10w60, others use 10w50 and some people put any old crap in it. Personally i think 0w40, 5w40 and 10w40 is not wise as you need a better high temp viscosity in a turbocharged car.

     

    Nissan recommend 10w30 but bear in mind this was based on brand new standard engines and no longer applies to 15 year old cars!!
