Been doing some research and if you have an import and are unsure of the exact date of manufacture then there are some big clues available - if you're prepared to look.

This is reasonably important to me because my car was initially given a J plate rather than a K when it was imported, so this is all part of the evidence I will submit to the DVLA.

1. Seat belts have a date (year) printed on one of the little silver labels

2. On the rear light interior cover mouldings giving the month in which that batch was produced

3. On a label on the underside of the boot sound deadening giving what appears to be the date of inspection

4. On the top left hand side of the boot blind (tonneau cover ??). Seems an odd place, but I guess it's a manufacturing date.

5. The drop dead one is that given the chassis number the month of manufacture is available in the Japanese version of the F.A.S.T cd.

Sorry about the size of these pics !!!!

No such luck! wink.gif

I'm in the same situation Andy,

My H reg appears to be a J but they put it on the earlier plate.

Would be interested to see if they will change it if I can prove it.
