Got a letter yesterday saying my insurance has been out for a week and the renewal has not been paid FFS. What renewal?? I never got one so I phoned them and was told it was sent out a couple of weeks ago. This sort of thing should be registered post or something because it is serious, if my car got nicked or crashed I would have lost the lot and possibly been prosecuted. So anyway my renewal is 735 quid so I phone the insurance factory and get it down to 640 but they were just to late to get it set up yesterday so I cant drive my car now till 9am Monday morning.

Hope it pisses down all weekend

I've been waiting for over a month for my Insurance Cert from Insurance Factory!

 

I need it to get my Tax(which has since runout), I'am fully covered they say, but if I need to produce insurance docs(police checks etc) I'm stuffed!

 

They say its down to the main Insurance Co as they are a broker. I asked if they could give em a push, as its urgent - "no sorry, once we get it, we will send it out to you" hmmm cheers!

I have been waiting for 4 months for my insurance certificate. I keep phoning A-Plan and they say that the certificate comes from Sabre because they are a broker too and my insurance is with them. However nothing has come but A-Plan keep sending me conver notes to I have something to show.

 

Who are you actually with Trey? Is it Sabre? I hope they aint gone bust.

You can get your tax with a cover note no problem. Its amazing how efficient these sort of places are when your making a payment but if you want something from them even something simple like your documents they suddenly start ignoring you

Yeah i done it too, think it has to be valid for at least 14 days from the current date or something. www.dvla.gov.uk might help.

 

Some insurance companies will send cover notes, until they have 'enough' monthly payments from you, until then, you will get monthly cover notes.

An average time is 6-8 months, depending on your initial payment, some ask for two months initial payment, therefore, 6 months payments = 8 moths and you get a proper cert.

My dad's wityh the insurance factory, got the cover note within the week, paid 12 months up front though i think. Recieved full documentation after we sent them proof of the security system.
