Hi guys, my car has been garged for the winter and i need to get her to Zedworld for the MOT and a few other bits & pieces... Problem is the i have no brakes as the the master cylinder needs replacing aswell!

Now i've just joined the AA with full Roadside & Recovery. Now, as the car is stored at a friends house if i call 'em and ask 'em to come and recover the car and take it to Zedworld as it has no brakes will they do it???

May seem like i stupid question but as it's not MOT or TAX in the window i need to be sure they'll do it....

What d'ya reckon, anyone on here done it before???

Cheerz

James

tbh i think theyll tell you where to go! if you break down on the road, thats a different matter altogether. have you tried looking for local services and getting a quote for a flatbed? yeah itll be an extra cost, but a least itll give you an idea of how much you need to spend if you have no alternative

Yes they should ! SWZ used to get customers bringing their car to them that way all the time!

Just tell them that the car needs a specialist garage and that Zedworld are the garage that do all the work on your car and you wont let anyone else touch it.

I doubt it as well

They do a home start for you but that wouldn't help you much

And as it has no mot or tax don't think they would recover it (said in the looses possible way)for you

Mot not an issue (they dont know that).....I very much doubt the driver would care or pay any attention to the tax ?

but yes, as I said, they definatly do normally !

ah Mot and tax could be an issue, I did'nt read that bit. but yes normally they do.

They have been great for me over the last couple of years

Flatbedded twice in 06 three time 07 and once so far this year:o

Almost at the stage where the AA ask me to phone them before I go out so they can have a truck on standby just in case

just try, whats the worst that can happen, give the driver£20 to keep shtum

Thanks for all your replies and opinions guys, i'm gonna call 'em as if the brakes have just gone whilst driving :x: so she'll parked up on the side of the road.... suppose i won't really know till i give it go..

Will let you know the outcome next wkd, cheerz again all

James :D

If its at your friends house, can you not wheel it infront of his property, ring them and say the Brake master cylinder has failed, can you come and tow me to Zedworld? They wont know where all your friends live?

what about putting a tax disc from another car on it for trip up there

at least at first glance it would appear taxed then when it is at Z World get them to send it back in the post

Just hire a trailer and tow it yourself

and if you have another cars tax disc in it you could be asking for trouble

Just hire a trailer and tow it yourself

Why not buy a trailer off ebay, use it for your trip to Zedworld, then set up a business transporting Zeds for club members..........there's obviously a big demand for this service.:D

I sold a non runner once, the guy came all the way from London and just called the AA and they came hitched it up and took it all the way to london. That car had no mot, no tax, no insurance, battery was dead, brakes were rusted and seized on, and it was a dog to top it all off.

So be confident i suppose and try it on, lets face it, you aint gonna loose much trying. :)

Give them a call, if they say no contact ZedWorld I think they have an arrangement with a transporter company, Contact Mrogers I think he had his transported to ZedWorld.

Allright mate, no need to shout:D

Aye Jeff has a reliable and good priced recovery man collect his Zeds for him, would have been the one who collected marcus's car, so just ring zedworld and ask for a price.

I use the AA with full cover and had no probs getting my car up to swz from cornwall, just told them needs to go to specialist and bring a low loader and away it went!:D
