we've had oak amtico strip floor in our reception foyer in work for 18 years now. it still looks good today its a busy area too non stop traffic to clients, reps etc my dad was a flooring contractor always did well and had upto 7 blokes working for him

the very best of luck with your new business venture, speaking as a self employed person the highs are great and the lows a bummer but hey what your doing its for yourself

Good luck bud. hope You get on ok, we don't have much work on in Norwich at the mo. my flooring mate who does my work only did 2 days this week and he thinks it will be a slow year. My work rate is also down big time on last year. Keep a good eye on your cash flow and you should be ok.

All the best. Bobby.

as above..ive been trading almost 30 years and this 1st quarter is one of the slowest i can remember:confused: i think its this credit crunch that has taken its toll on peoples "play money"

i can imagine :(

i think 90% of our work will come from commercial work which is less money but will keep it ticking over and when a few domestic ones come along then thats the profitt :D

just need a decent van now LOL

cant believe i'm looking for a bloody van, all the nice cars ive had and its ended up like this

Mike, i do a lot of new build hotels / light industrial / commercial buildings, tend to use Amtico a lot.. always glad to put you on the tender list for work

good luck

John

Mike, Good luck with this... As for vans i can highly recommend 1.9 CDTI vauxhall Vivaro, they are a fast van (i had 115mph on the clock on track;) out of mine!) , good on diesel and drive very well. I put 20k on one over the period of a few months and i'll be honest it never got so much as an oil change. Comfortable and no effort to drive, 300 miles in one sitting wasnt an issue!

Nissan Primastar and Renault Traffic are exactly the same - all come from the same factory and all similar engines so take your pick... :)

Mates a tiller. specalises in carndean sort of stuff that what you on about or laminate flooring?

both really, the commercial stuff will make up i would have thought about 90% of all our business but obviously theres more mark up in the domestic higher end stuff like amtico etc but as a new business were looking at all types at the moment ;) beggers cant be choosers :D

Same thinking behind my question. Oversee alot of new build office/commercial/industrial units across the UK from a major contracting point of view. Send me a letter of introduction if interested but make it professional as will have to present to directors.
