After much searching around i have finally mamaged to get hold of a Series 2 climate control pod and ecu, now the pod looks very simple to fit and i would imaging the ecu is the same, i've been told it goes somewhere in the drivers footwell, but where?????. What do i need to remove to get to it. i've just had a look and cant see anything that looks like the box that i have, do i need to pull back the carpet,remove the centre console,take off the piece under the steering wheel, any advce will be really appreciated and the more detailed the better

Its mounted on a metal plate, vertically, held in with 2 small screws to the left of the Clutch pedal (or where cltuch pedal would be if you have an auto).

 

You'll need to spend 15 mins or so upside down on the seat with your head under the dash to remove it. You could remove the plastic heater ducting for more room.
