What is the best way to get rid of light surface scratches on my car? She is gunmetal gray and want to give her a really good going over this weekend and a good wax afterwards.

Best stuff to get rid of scratches and best wax anyone?

Want to give her a proper long lasting shine too!

I personally just use G3 compound or t-cut, i use a proper buffer thing though otherwise it takes ages and your arm will drop off :D

Dunno about wax but i am also doing my homework on the subject and i believe Meguiers Gold is good :)

Buy yourself a metallic Grey T-Cut that will get rid of the scratches! will take you about 4 hours by hand though! and dont do it in the sun you will never get it off! Probably best T-Cut 18inch square at a time??

First T-cut and carefully take it back..do it by hand then you will not go too far,do a square foot at a time and you will really see what you are doing. On deeper scratches go along the scratch until you get the sides down and then across.Whole car to cut back should only take an hour if ya get in to it.Then, next step Colour Magic by Turtle Wax to polish the fresh surface up..then stand back and go Wow!This combination has really worked for what was a faded and fairly scratched Red. I keep it looking good by washing it with a cheap wasnwax and chamois it off.. and Colour magic it say every 4 washes. Also I have found that taking a small corner of cloth and soaking it with WD40 and wiping over the rubber strips and grey bits keeps them from cracking and they always look great..Hope this helps and does the same for you.Cheers and enjoy the shine !

you can polish it till the cows come home mate, it will only last a week or so, mine is exactly the same, it needs painting
