The Z is needing a respray and I'm trying to decide on a possible colour change.

Been thinking about going a crazy orange after watching the Zonda on a Top Gear repeat yesterday.

Also absolutely love this Lambo colour but I don't fancy ordering paint from them LOL

Does anyone know what cars use something similar so I can price up the options?

I'm not sure if the Focus ST orange is quite as vivid and metallic as I'd like but I might call in and have a look at a dealer if I can find one.

think his is lambo orange but possibly an older one as it looks different to that gallardo orange?

I don't know if paint for motorbikes is different or not?? but I quite like the metallic orange that Kawasaki has used on some of their recent bikes, I think its called pearl wildfire orange. If it could be used for a car then should be a bit cheaper than a lambo paint.

I'm not sure how to add a pic, but if you go to the Kawasaki website you can see the colour on the Z750 bike.

Personally I think the Orange is very dated as it is a retro trend and will look crap in 2 years. Why not go for a silver pearl with a tint like Chrises (Deve8) but with a violet or orange in the pearl instead of blue. Would look sweet.

There is a place nr. Cardiff that might be able to help. Autospray in Church Village. I've just had mine resprayed a TVR Colour called Halcyon Atlantis. Autospray mix the the colours on site, so may be able to assist.

 

I should have the car back this week and will post picies when I have. It's currently being "reconstructed"

There is a Ford colour, I think it's Vista Orange, which seems similar.

There is a Orange one on ebay right now that we have ha at SWZ before. Lamborgini orange.

why dont ya go for a candy colour, you've allready got the base colour (silver) which will keep the cost down, maybe a nice blue-ish/purple a cross between markzx and jason farrow, just a thought, although after seein your car in the flesh i think it looks good as it is.

There was a bright Yellow pearl Paul Bailey promo car and it really was in your face. The Orange again with your kit maybe too much. Steve Mochans car looks loverly, but it is fairly standard and SWB. Keep it silver with a twist.

Yeah the yellow Paul Bailey car was one of the ones that made me go wide arch all those years ago.

I very nearly went with yellow myself but decided it was a bit too much and stayed with silver.

I think having a couple of silver cars at the moment is making me want a change for the Z but I don't know if I'd end up regretting it.

If you like orange there's a fair few good options out there...but i wouldn't do it myself. After seeing a few (I used to think it might work) I now think it looks terrible...cheap and overly ostentatious. Plus you get lumped in with the Lax Flower brigade. The best paint jobs are subtle but ooze quality...IMHO. ;)

I do like the silver and if it wasn't for nearly every panel now needing some paintwork I wouldn't even consider a change.

Putting a flip into it might be the way to go.

 

Seems like almost every car in my street is silver at the moment.

I looked out the window the other day and out of 9 cars I could see, 7 of them were silver!

I thought I was in some kind of silver day dream LOL

Have seen an mr2 done up in 'lexus black cherry pearl', that looked very nice.

Or i've seen a few mgf's about in a stunning yellow with a gold flip to it, also

seen a very similar colour on a clio too.

The stock ZX Paul (SWZ) posted looked OK, but your's is not stock and IMO will look very tacky in orange.

 

Do the silver/blue/flippy thing MarkZX suggested is you must change - otherwise just keep the silver.
