my brakes are squeaking quite loud, anyone know why? i know my car has been off the road for some time but i thought the noise would've disappeared after a bit of driving but it hasn't. I changed the pads probably less than 1000 miles ago and they didn't make any noise before the car went off the road.

also.... my exhausts smoke thick white smoke when i start the car from cold for about 5-10 mins... daily... then goes away, never smoked before but does it each time now since my has been back on the road? help??

The squealking from the brakes is most prob the pads sticking in the claipers, where it's been sat for a while. I'd take them out & clean them up & refit them with a bit off copper gease where then touch the caliper. Also check the disc's are'nt to badly rusted.

Not sure on the smoke.

If its "thick" white smoke then unfortunately it could be your turbo seals leaking oil past the seals when its parked up and then burning it off in the exhausts when you start her up :(

Otherwise its just condensation.

it is quite thick if i am honest, only seems to do it for 5 mins or so then completely stops.

if turbo seals, then i'm guessing could be an expensive job??

It wont be smoke it will be steam, zeds will make a trail like an old train for the first few mins in some weather conditions.

Upto half a litre of water can collect in your exhaust as your car cools down thus its got to come out somehow. Some exhaust companies like bosal have blowholes designed to let the water out.

oil smoke has a blue colour to it and it has a strong sharp smell. water is always white, and if its a headgasket failure it would smoke white continuously.
