i said that liverpool fans live in the eighties and thats funny, what i said about hillsborough (which i know is not funny) is that people/fans cannot let this go, it was an accident and a tragic one which hopefully will never happen again

it will always be close to the heart of the ones directly involved and my heart goes out to them, what does my head in is all the people trying to sue other people for what they saw on TV and trying to blame everyone, accidents happen, look at the heysel disaster, munich air disaster, all avoidable :(

 

anyway back to football, i was worried about torres being a lemon and an expensive one at that, if you can keep him happy and away from the barcas and millans of the world i think you have a cracker there ;) we could do with a out an out finisher and utd

hey i'm far from hostile, i would love to see such a big club a liverpool up fighting with us for the league but even after all the money you have spent over the last couple of years (£150m if memory serves in the last 3 odd years)

 

as for superior team, well apart from maybe 2 people in your team no other player would get in the man utd side which is liverpools problem, not enough money spent in the right areas and money wasted on average players, you have what i would call world class players in 2 positions and 3 or 4 other great players but you need 5 or 6 world class players in the team to be at the top ;)

There are 4 what i would call top class players in our team at the moment:

 

Pepe Reina, Jamie Carragher, Stevie G and Mr Torres.....

 

But we have some players who will come good in the next season of two. Mascherano is going to be one of the best defensive midfielders the premiership has ever seen, Babel is making a real name for himself, Benayoun needs more match time but is showing some promise, and if Daniel Agger can get fit and stay fit he has a serious amount of potential.

 

We could deffiantly do with loosing a few, Kuyt springs to mind, and as does Kewell, which is a shame but hes just too injury prone. Im undecided about Riise. As much as i like him, hes not that strong defensively and he appears to have lost his touch. Saying that, i know i wouldnt want to be on the business end of his left foot shots!!!

The biggest thing utd have in there favour is that are an established team, ie its been near as nick it the same team for the last 3 seasons bar a few insignificant signings, so they have bonded well together as a team.

 

Give liverpool another 1 or 2 seasons of bonding together, the top of the premiership will be looking more like the northern battles of old, while chelsea slowly fall to pieces and wenger retires

ive got to admit i like Rooney because he has alot of fire in himand he's not scared to tackle even tho he does get card for fowling alot, but thats not a bad thing England need someone with a bit of fire in them,

 

cant stand Ronaldo since getting Rooney sent off, and he's turned into a diver since then too, falls rolls around like his legs ben cut and he does that everytime someone comes with in 10 yards of his air:D ;)

When it comes to Stevie, all depends on where you play him. If Rafa keeps playing him in his current postion, ie behind torress with a free role, you cant control him. Both him and Torres have embarresed everyone theyve come across since hes behind torres THE BEST ATTACKING COMBO IN THE GAME

Look at all you lot talking about your teams that have cost millions. Sorry but Arsenal are doing the best job with what resources they have available to them. They have a small squad containing players that cost next to nothing in football terms.

 

And please don't write us off over the next few years, a team that is a good 3 years or so from being anywhere near at they're peak! The Gunners are only going to get stronger, mark my word!

Yeah, I agree. We all have our faves but at the end of the day I will cheer on any of the English teams if they are up against any other team from Europe.

Pepe is a good keeper and a great shot stopper, but he's not a great all round keeper, add being dominent in the area for crosses etc then he would be world class!!

 

Ive seen carragher this season make loads of mistakes, he's good but i dont think he would get into the team of chelsea, man utd or arsenal unless there was injuries!!

 

Steven Gerrard is a great player and ive seen him play and thought yeh he's world class but ive also seen him play and he's hardly touched the ball but theres no doubting his leadership skills but as you say he needs to be played in the middle where he can control things

 

With regards to the best attacking combo in the game :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: deluded mate, if they were the BEST then they would have scored the most goals which they havnt, in fact until a few games ago they were well down the pecking list, its only in the last few games against crap teams where torres has filled his boots but if memory serves he is still a way behind a few others in the scoring department ;)

 

As i said i would have torres at man utd but i wouldnt have any other player.

 

Oh and if you think i'm totally bias, i'm not i think man utd have a few lemons, get rid of saha, he is unfit and useless, still unsure about nani, looks really good one game then looks weak the next, giggs has been the best overall player ever in the premiership but in todays game he's just too old and cant do what he did years ago, scholes is in the same boat i'm affraid, tevez is a bit of a kuyt, works hard but not much end product!!

 

At least i will make £400 very soon as i have 4 bets with friends/relatives that man utd will finish above liverpool in the league whch i made at the beginning of the season :D which i thinks a safe bet :nana2:

I think thats a bet some of your mates have made with pride rather than there heads. We were never going to challenge the top three this season.
