has this ever been done here???

I've never seen the point of it to be honest, unless you're going for crazy power (which is still achievable with VG), but it is nice. Doesn't sound anywhere near as nice as a VG30DETT though. It's often done in the US as RB engines are very rare and seen as exotic.

firstly its cheaper to tune, gets better gains.

 

secondly it sheds weight, also improves performance

 

thirdly it much easier to tune, gearboxes are easier to get for higher HP.

 

As for asthetics, well if you can live with 1 exhaust pie instead of 2 thats about it. As for sound, well I dont think a well tunes Lark sounds bad do you?

if you want to do a transplant on a budget i think the best bet would be the supra engine, just as tunable as the RB26 and much cheaper to tune and some would argue that the engines are stronger than the RB26!!

 

as for power, you can get a supra engine to 500+rwhp for under £3k!!
