ANY GOOD CONDITION USED ONE'S OUT THERE??

I know, I know!!

BUT.. I'm still feeling the need to change the front of my zed for something a bit more radical, and "in yer face" lol.. and taken myself by suprise by liking the zeds recently pictured at the Sutton Bank meet, fitted with the Veilside c2 front bumpers

I know these bumpers are generally not liked on here.. But each to their own ;) and think it may suit my wide arch ??

It may just be another one of my 'crazy' ideas.. :nelson:

Really liked fairladyzgirls's in black, when she had one fitted..

It sure does :D

I found these Sarah.. I'm sure it's the same thing, but not sure of quality at this price, and the delivery time is a bit off putting

Was yours a genuine Veilside?

no mine was an ebay cheapo!!

tbh the quality was not bad, any fibre glass is destined for the bin on a low car, it was the sheer size of the speed bumps and the flooding that did it in!!

I think i paid 260 for the whole kit!!

The cheapo would have done me fine, if it would not have been a daily drive.

This is the current ebay cheapie.. Even the genuine Veilside are f/glass, or maybe GRP?..

the problem is how thin the bottom of the bumper/ splitter is, one knock and it can be damaged.

For the money though and if its not a daily drive, give it a try

Mmmm.. Not sure about that one. You do get what you pay for.

Maybe one of Luke's would be the quality I'm after.

Having said that, they are only 35 miles from me.. I could go and take a look at the quality, before I buy it.. They are happy for customers to do that according to their listing info.

The second of the 'POTN' links I put up appears to have a carbon fibre lower part.

Daily drive.. lol

I've only done 30 miles in the last 7 months :x: But will be using it alot more this year :hyper:

It's only just been run-in since Andy re-built it last year :D

dude how can you say it looks gash when they make the zed look meaner than a pitbull with a bum full of wasps

what i dont understand is why put a different front bumper on your car that looks almost the same as the standard one if ya gonna kit it up then make it mean

since i put mine on last saturday ive had 5 people stop me ( inc the 5-0 ) and ask if it was for sale i only ever got that once when i had my standard bumper on in the 2 years ive owned it

erm true i dont do speed bumps.....or dips in the road or sharp corners lol cant believe how low down mine is i measured it and its just over 2 inch off the floor

dude how can you say it looks gash when they make the zed look meaner

Its all down to personal opinion, If we all liked the same thing then it would be a boring world to live in. Personally I think that it is the worst monstrosity of a bumper ever designed and the biggest waste of glass fibre this side of the reliant robin but I do realise that some people like it, though fook knows why...... but you like it so thats all that matters ;)

No it doesn't make the Zed look mean at all, it makes it look total gash as already stated. It totally ruins the slick lines of the car and is suited for the max power enthusiasts. Were the 5 people that stopped you teenagers or chavs per chance?

ffs if you dont like it fair fooking dos, but you know there are folk on here that both have it AND LIKE IT.

Gumball was after constructive criticism, not giving an opportunity for people to once again throw insults.

Fair enough if you think it ruins the lines of the cars, thats constructive criticism but is there really any need to take the piss out of another members post?

and just to back up Matts statement, i had far more compliments from admirers of the car when i had that kit on and no they were not teenagers and chavs, they were mainly men filling up their cars in petrol stations!

Genuine Veilside are GRP. They are so well made that they fit perfectly without any modification and only need a lite key before painting.

The GRP is so fine it is barely thicker than the steel pannels and it is really strong. I personally don't like veilside kits in general (though I modified one for my front bumper) as I don't think they have any relationship to the lines of the car, but people should express themselves in their own way. Thats what makes life interesting. + Sometime people apply things you don't like in such a way that it looks attractive. When that happens it is great because it fires idea's you just wouldn't have had before.

If you like it buddy go for it.

I dont like it on its own :x: I think it needs the whole kit to even to begin to pull it off. But each to there own,

I mean everyone thought I was weird when I did not buy deep dish Alloys for my 300 :D

lol.. I thought there would be some 'non constructive' comments made about this bumper Saz, as there are some strong views of it on here

I thought Si was very reserved with his comments though.. Are you mellowing Si? :D

A good point was made by Glenn though.. This bumper does ruin the smooth lines of the zed, but that's exactly what I said I wanted to do.. I did say I was looking for a bumper that was "a bit more radical", and "a bit in yer face".. Clearly this bumper does those things..

Aggresive look/smooth lines... Each to their own!!

Not my cup of tea at all but each to their own.

Even the rest of the Veilside kit doesn't really help it and I certainly wouldn't fit it on it's own to an otherwise standard car.

My advice is save up and get a complete kit if you're going to do it.

You'd never just fit a modified rear bumper on it's own so why do it with the front?

I see loads of cars with silly fronts, massive wings or huge wheels and on their own they just look crap and unfinished.

Go for a complete look or not at all IMO.

Anyway, Please buy it so there's one less car to compete on looks with at the shows!

You're saying you want to ruin the lines of the Z?

No, not really Si ;)

Of course I love the overall look/lines of a zed and didn't mean to disrespect the zed's looks :o .. but I do like my cars to look a bit different to the norm, and as you know, mine does, with the wide arch conversion, and supra rear lights etc..

What I meant when I said that, was I want something that is going to look a lot different to what I currently have fitted, but obviously, I still want it to suit the car in my minds eye.

I have fancied a change up front from my Strosek bumper for quite a while now, and really did take myself by suprise, when I found myself liking the look of the Veilside front on the zeds recently pictured at the Sutton Bank meet, and think it could be the 'different' look I'm currently after.. I now remember I had this front on an MR2 turbo I had a few years back, and must say thought it suited it alot more than the standard front.

The beauty of the front bumpers of course, is they are just bolt-on/bolt-off, so if I didn't like it in a few months, it could be changed again, and no real big deal...

Love it, or hate it, I am seriously considering the Veilside c2 front bumper... Especially after seeing it on Saz's black zed (pictured above), which I think looked quite sexual, and a show worthy car (chrisc) ;)

:D

Bloody Hell, I darn't tell you what bonnet I've just bought for it.. Standard it is not!!.. lol ;)
